International Sunflower Guerrilla Garden Day

For a few years now I have been involved with International Sunflower Guerrilla Garden Day.
In case you missed last year’s post here’s a little reminder on what it is all about.

This annual guerrilla garden event was created approximately a decade ago by a group of guerrilla gardeners from Brussels and is now celebrated internationally by thousands of people.
Each year on May 1st, guerrilla gardeners from all over the world plant sunflower seeds in places perceived to be neglected, such as ditches, public flower beds or possibly even in their neighbor’s yard.

To help celebrate International Sunflower Guerrilla Gardening Day, I (Brenda Dyck from Guerrilla Garden Adventures) have made it my personal mission to get my neighbours to participate in planting some sunflower seeds around the ‘hood.

What can I say other then when it comes to International Sunflower Guerrilla Garden Day
……accomplices and alibis always come in handy!

By dropping off sunflower seed packages to every unit at Some-Strata-Complex I hope to inspire my neighbors to take part in the International Sunflower Guerrilla Gardening Day event and make this world a greener, happier and more creative place.

Note: This is a real holiday, so buy some sunflower seeds and try to convince convince your boss that you need the day off.
