The Guerrilla Garden Adventures Manifesto:
Inspiring Garden Rebels everywhere to make the world a greener, happier and more creative place.

If you asked me for my New Year’s Resolution,
I would have to confess that it is more of a New Year’s Revolution.
However, a New Year’s Resolution without a plan is just wishful thinking and a revolution without some rebel action is just pointless.

Since actions speak louder than words I have made a 16 point action plan to support The Guerrilla Garden Adventures Manifesto:

1-Giveaway (or donate) some plants and seeds.

Starting January 6th Guerrilla Garden Adventures will be doing random monthly giveaways
because…well…free stuff makes people happy!
Also this will literally help people (a.k.a potential Garden Rebels) to make the world a greener place.

2-Personally sow some plants and seeds.

This will not only happen on my own property, for my own enjoyment
but also on other people’s property, for other people’s enjoyment.

3-Encourage other people to plant some plants and seeds.

Science supports that Horticultural Therapy is actually a real thing.
Being surrounded by plants and flowers will actually make you, and those around you feel happier.

4-Do Fun Garden Stuff with Children.

I truly believe that it is far more important to give children things that are powered by imagination than batteries.
Creating  a Fairy Garden or a Gnome and Troll  dwelling are just a few of the Guerrilla Garden Adventure Ideas that come to mind.

5-Do Fun Garden Stuff with Friends (a.k.a. accomplices).

Note to accomplices (and you know who you are):
A getaway car may be needed prior to doing some of the Fun Garden Stuff I have planned for this year.

6-Encourage other people (a.k.a. potential Garden Rebels) to do Fun Garden Stuff with their Friends and Children.

The Guerrilla Garden Adventures Blog will have plenty of ideas on how to incorporate Fun Garden Stuff throughout the gardening season while spending time with your gardening and non-gardening loved ones alike. However, be sure to read The Guerrilla Garden Adventures Disclaimer before proceeding with any recommended Fun Garden Stuff.

7-Create Stuff

I can do so much, with so little that I am determined to use recycled household items and junk to generate unique garden planters and ornaments.
This will not only save on the garden budget but will help save the environment as well.

8-Give away Stuff.

After creating stuff I will remind myself that I have inherited the hoarding gene from my mother and that although my imagination is unlimited, my space is not. To make room I will either have to get rid of some of the stuff I already own or giveaway the some of the stuff I have created but either way I promise to find a good home for my stuff so that it doesn’t end up in a landfill somewhere.

9-Go see Stuff

I signed up for a Free 2017 Discovery Pass.
The 2017 Discovery Pass provides free admission for the entire year to Parks Canada places from coast-to-coast to coast.
Let’s face it, a road trip always makes for a compelling adventure and even if turns out badly it usually has the elements of a really good story.

10-Encourage other people to Create, Giveaway and Go see Stuff.

It is said that encouraging words will inspire others to be the best that they can be.
I don’t know if this is true but it costs nothing and I think encouragement is contagious.
You can either be a bucket dipper or a bucket filler…if you know what I mean.

11- Take time to cultivate my mind and share my thoughts.

Read, study and think about books, art and life. Learn new stuff.  Search for information with an open mind.
Then write, blog and share everything I find in a humorous way and take a lot of pictures and possibly some videos along the way to document how my mind works.
Buckle up people it’s going to be Quite the Adventure!

12-Laugh a lot.

A day without laughter is well…just a wasted day.

13- Encourage others to laugh a lot.

In the words of Dr. Anne Wilson Schaef …
“I realize that humor isn’t for everyone.
It’s only for people who want to have fun, enjoy life and feel alive.”
The exception to the rule is  (according to Mrs. C) someone who has had heart surgery.
Then laughing is strictly forbidden!
Point taken- Mr C. is supposed to be in stitches, not busting out of his stitches, so I won’t make him laugh until he is healed.

14-Enjoy life and have adventures.

I’m going to say YES more often to New Adventures.
I haven’t been everywhere or done everything yet so if the opportunity arises to try something new or go somewhere that I haven’t been before then I should just do it. Unless it involves spiders, kale or jumping out of a perfectly good plane…then I’m out.
Just saying, that there is a fine line between adventure and madness that even I am not willing to cross.

15- Encourage others to enjoy life and have adventures

Y.O.L.O – you only live once.
One day your life will flash before your eyes and trust me you will want to make sure it’s worth watching.

16-Just Be More Me!

A Guerrilla Gardener who is a Blogger, Writer and Humorist.

So here’s to (hopefully) another trip around the sun.
Planning for 12 Months of giveaways, 52 weeks of adventures, 365 days of laughter, 8,760 hours of fun, 525,600 minutes of happiness and 31,536,000 seconds of just being more me.
